story of the nutcracker (NOT THE SBC VERSION, NYCB VERSION)
ACT ONE: clara has a christmas party and recieves a nutcracker from her uncle. she dances with it and her brother, fritz, breaks it. her uncle fixes it and she falls asleep. she wakes up and there are mice surrounding her. her nutcracker comes alive and brings an army of toy soldiers to fight the mouse king and his mice. the mouse king dies and the nutcracker officially meets clara for the first time in a snowy land. the snow queen greets clara and the nutcracker and helps them on their journey to the land of sweets.
ACT TWO: clara and the nutcracker are greeted by the sugar plum fairy and her cavalier. sugar plum introduces all of the divertissements, treats from around the world, followed by the dew drop and her flowers. The divertissements include spanish hot chocolate, arabian coffee, chinese tea, russian candy canes, the marzipan shepards, and mother ginger and her polichinelles. after the waltz of the flowers, sugar plum and her cavalier perform a pas de deux and clara wakes up, realizing it was all a dream.
