What is the 15 Minute Rule?
Students are required to attend school everyday and do so with as little absences and tardies as possible
What is attendance?
The district allows for these devices to be brought to school. However, they must only be used at appropriate times and with a teacher’s permission
What are cellphones and other telecommunication devices?
Learners are able to complete work after due dates if they were not in attendance on the day it was assigned
What is make-up work?
Learners are not allowed to leave campus while they are enjoying their lunch.
What is a closed campus lunch?
Students that do not ride the busses or walk must be left at the lane closest to the building
What are drop-offs?
Learners should use polite table manners, remain seated until dismissed, clean up after they’re done, and not play around
What are cafeteria rules to live by?
District-issued devices at NTO that are used everyday.
What are Laptops?
Learners are given 3 minutes between class periods to transition. They should move quickly, quietly, and avoid holding up others from making it to class
What are passing periods?
Foods and Drinks are strictly prohibited outside of the cafeteria.
What are food/ drinks in classrooms?
Expectations that are given by the district to those who ride their large public vehicles
What are bus expectations?
Leave the area clean, wear your trust card and ID, not play rough, and be respectful
What are patio rules to live by?
Learners are not allowed to send profane, threatening, illegal, abusive, obscene, and etc.
What are inappropriate uses for technology?
Learners receive a card that allows them to be identified by teachers and staff to ensure the safety of everyone
What is an ID and Trust Card?
5 Exams(English I, Algebra I, Biology, English II, and U.S. History)that are required to be taken and passed in order to graduate high school.
What are STAAR EOCs?
The times NTO’s doors open to when they close
What are the hours of operations?
No Food/Drinks, return furniture to where it was, communicate and collaborate respectfully, and wear your trust card and ID at all times
What are common area rules to live by?
An action that involves taking someone else’s work and claiming it as your own, Anyone caught doing this will receive disciplinary actions immediately
What is plagiarism?
Certain classes have books that are assigned to students free of charge
What are textbooks?
Places in school that are able to be used both after and before school with responsibility. Standing in the hallways and blocking traffic is prohibited.
What are school facilities?
Lockouts, Lockdown, Evacuations, Shelters in Place, and Holds.
What are drills?
The consequences for not following the rules at NTO such as; the core values, dress code, and attendance.
What is discipline?
NTO is equipped with audio and video devices to ensure safety to the entire building.
What are surveillance cameras?
NTO’s grading policy that consists of; Knowledge and thinking skills, Collaboration, Agency, Written Communication, and Oral Communication skills.
What are the SWLOs?
Clubs that require Texas Scholar hours every year to be completed in order to receive a yellow cord at graduation.
