What is the tone or mood at the beginning of this chapter? How do you know?
The tone/mood is more happy, like things are more back to normal. I know this because they are all joking about milking the cow.
How old was Annemarie when the war ended?
She was 12.
What lie is told to this chapter and to whom will it be told to?
Mama says they will tell the doctor that she fell down the stairs.
Why does she need to run to Uncle Henrik's boat?
She has to run to Uncle Henrik's boat to deliver the very important package Mr. Rosen was supposed to give Uncle Henrik from Peter.
On pg. 115, it says Annemarie gave an "exasperated" sigh. What does that mean?

What is the irony in this chapter?
The irony in this chapter is that she is telling herself the story of Little Red Riding Hood, which has a wolf, and then she hears growling, which is coming from the German soldiers dogs.
Use the RACE strategy: How does Uncle Henrik feel when he sees Annemarie?
Use the RACE strategy: Why was the handkerchief in the package Annemarie delivered so important to the cause?
The handkerchief she delivered was very important because it would throw the dogs off the scent of people. The Rosens and other Jews were hiding under Uncle Henrik's boat. On pg. 125 it says that scientists created a drug that attracts the dogs, but it ruins their sense of smell. If Annemarie hadn't been caught by the soldiers, the dogs would've never smelled the handkerchief and they later would have found the Rosens on the boat.
How exactly did the handkerchiefs really stop the dogs in real life?
They were laced with rabbit's blood and cocaine. The blood attracted the dogs and the cocaine made their sense of smell go away temporarily.
