The suckers on a Giant Pacific Octopus can hold weights up to 35 lbs (16 kg). Each octopus arm can have over 200 suckers, and each sucker can taste, grip, and lift 31 lbs (14 kg). In theory, an octopus could lift over 49,000 lbs (22,400 kg) using all its suckers.
