How do I identify some helpful coping skills that I can use at work?
Scenario:
Member, Tonika, is requesting an ipod (haha) to listen to music because it is one of her coping skills. She has anxiety and explosive anger concerns. She is not eligible for services with the Board of DD. Provide a rationale to apply for flex funds to fund this.
Tonika has a diagnosis of Anxiety and explosive anger. Tonika has indicated that listening to music assists her in managing her symptoms in the home and in the community. Tonika will be able to use the Ipod to listen to music before, during, and/or after feeling symptoms of anxiety and/or explosive anger in and outside the home. The use of the Ipod will assist in improving her safety in the home as she will have 24/7 access to music, her coping skill, and may reduce her property destruction, skin picking, and verbal aggression in the home.
Ask the team if they have one being used right now that can be copied onto the Aetna Safety Plan.
Schedule a time to make the safety plan with the member and guardian/caregiver.
Scenario:
Tonya completed a CANS reassessment meeting on 8/11/2023. Tonya began entering the CANS and the narrative into the CANS IT system on 8/12/2023. Tonya finished and submitted the CANS in the CANS IT system on 8/13/2023. The completed CANS is now reporting the date of the CANS as 8/13/2023 even though the billing in SmartCare says 8/11/2023.

8/11/2023
