This type of drawing shows depth by making objects appear smaller as they go farther away.
What is Perspective?
These lines go straight up and down and do NOT point to the vanishing point.
What are vertical lines?
This perspective system uses only ONE vanishing point on the horizon line.
What is One-point perspective.
These lines go side to side and stay parallel to the horizon line.
What are horizontal lines?
In one-point perspective, all receding lines go toward this single location.
What is vanishing point?
This imaginary line represents where the sky meets the ground.
What is the horizon line?
In this perspective system, the front face of objects is flat and facing the viewer.
