Is it acceptable to have a shred pile that is shredded every Friday?
No- all sensitive information must be shredded daily! As a best practice, the shred pile can be done multiple times through out the day.
What is the name of the manual that has information pertaining to a branch robbery?
The Yellow Binder: People's United Bank Emergency Procedure Manual. The location varies from branch to branch- visible behind the teller line but out of sight for customers.
What is the purpose of locking the second drawer?
To store strapped cash away from top drawer, to protect you from having a large amount of cash should a robbery occur.
What is meant by Dual Control?
Activity taken in the presence of two employees both verifying and taking responsibility for that activity. Examples: Daily fine count of ready vault, accessing negotiables(cashiers checks, money orders), cash drawers in or out, accessing signature guarantee stamp, etc.
What does IPS stand for?
Information Protection Standards
I: Items shredded daily
P: Printers faxes, and copiers are clear of paperwork
S: Sign all vendors in and out of the branch
When should you activate the silent alarm?
After the robber has left the branch and it is safe to do so.
What is your cash box limit?
Top $5000 max and second drawer $7500 max for a total of 12,500 or $5000 if connected to a cash device
How must night drop be verified and why?
2 people present at vault opening and record the envelopes on Log. 2 people verify contents of bags/envelopes, and both sign log. This is to confirm any discrepancies and/or amounts do not match the deposit slip provided by the customer.
What is the safe entry signal?
The People's United bank sign in the window or door
What do you do if a customer emails you asking for account information?
Politely explain we are not allowed to communicate account information through email, and refer them to the intranet for secure email or the Call Center.
Who should you call following a robbery?
911 or local police and Corporate Security
What must be on a cash strap in order to sell to the vault?
The employees initials who sold the cash and the date stamp.
What are you indicating when you sign an entry log?
You are verifying that you were present and witnessed everything that occurred at that time.
When do you share Teller Insight or Banker Insight passwords?
Never!!!
What steps should you follow if a service technician comes to the branch?
First, ask for their tow forms of identification. Second, they must be verified by email or phone call. Third, they must be recorded in the Branch Visitor Log
What do you do with a note you are given during a robbery?
If it is safe to do so, try to put it aside and out of sight. Do not handle the note unnecessarily, and provide it to the police, and do not touch other places or items the robber may have touched so fingerprints may be obtained.
How frequently must a cash drawer be audited?
Monthly
Or in the event of: vacation, emergency leave, termination, transfer, or if another employee has used the cash drawer
What information is included on the vault entry log?
The time, the initials or employee ID of the 2 employees performing that action, and the specific action performed.
What do you do when you leave your workstation?
Lock top and bottom drawers and lock your workstation PC using CTL + ALT + Delete
What is considered sensitive information -both customer and employee?
Name, address, phone number, social security number, drivers license, account number, debit/credit card number, or any PIN's or passwords. It can also include sensitive information related to PUB employees including compensation, performance or medical and health benefits information
Who completes the Physical Description Form and what is the purpose of completing these forms?

All employees who were in the branch at the time of the robbery, especially the employee who was robbed. Some customers may be asked to complete the form as well, under the guidance of the police or Corporate Security.
Where do you put a shipment when it arrives and for how long?
Shipment must be placed in the ready vault and kept there for at least 30 minutes prior to verifying or moving to the time vault. This is to avoid a shipment robbery.
Who signs the vault entry log when a shipment is received?
2 PUB employees! They are bulk verifying the shipment to ensure the amounts match the order from Loomis. Once it has been verified, it can be placed in the ready vault by the Custodian.
What do you do if the safe entry sign is not up?
Go to a safe location, call the branch and if the person who answers says it's all clear, proceed to the branch. If you are given business hours or there is no answer, call the police, then Corporate Security. Travel to a safe location in sight of the branch and wait for the police to arrive.
