Leaves: These are flat to absorb as much light energy as possible so it can carry out photosynthesis more efficiently.
Stems: Hollow tubes that make transporting materials from the roots to the top more efficient
Roots: Branched tubes that help anchor the plant, absorb nutrients and water from the ground, and store materials.
Flowers: Colorful to attract pollinators

Name one example of how the structure of a cell, tissue, organ, or organ system allows that item to carry out its function.
Cell: Plants have hollow cells that allow liquids and materials to flow through them.
Tissue: Plants have ground tissue that is more rigid that gives the plant vertical support and structure. Vascular tissue is hollow and allows for transport of material. Dermal tissue is protects the outside of the plant and is thicker.
Organ: Leaves of plants are flat, which allows them to gather more light energy for photosynthesis. Stems are long and tubular, which allows them to transport materials from their roots to the top of the plant. Roots branch out to help anchor them in the ground.
Organ system: The heart is strong and muscular to pump the blood, the blood vessels are hollow tubes used to transport the blood from the heart to the cells, and the blood carries the dissolved nutrients that needs to be delivered to all the cells.
What is a vascular system?

Root system: Anchors the plant and absorbs nutrients from the ground due to branching roots.
Shoot system: Main job is to carry out photosynthesis. Having wide, flat leaves makes this job more efficient.

The products of one process are the needed ingredients to start the other process and vice versa.
