4 Days
How often does a VA client need to be bathed?
Some form of personal care should be done at EVERY visit for VA clients.
Who must sign every log sheet before mailing?
CAREGiver AND Client or Client's representative
What are you allowed to do with an client's oxygen tank?
Bring the tank to them so they can adjust the pressure
put on the nasal cannula
fill the water on portable oxygen tanks ONLY with distilled water

Call the office - ALWAYS speak to a live person!
Where should a gait belt be placed on a client?
On the client's waist, under the rib cage, over the clothing; NEVER on bare skin.
When are log sheets sent in the mail?
15th and end of month
What is the lift limit for ALL Home Instead Senior Care employees?

Feet should be firmly planted on the floor

What is the procedure for a client telling you it's okay for you to leave the shift early?
Call the office BEFORE you leave to make sure it's okay!!
When a client is using a walker, where should you, as the CAREGiver, be?
Behind the client but to the side, with gait belt if necessary.
How do you record your time in and out on a log sheet?
Always put AM or PM and MUST match Clear Care.
If a client's blood sugar spikes and they eventually pass out, what can do to help?
Call an ambulance
You CANNOT administer insulin.
What time is it acceptable to call off for a shift during after hours?
Before 10pm and after 6am
