Origin: calcaneus. Insert: dorsal aponeurosis and middle phalanges of 2nd to 4th toes
Extensor digitorum Brevis
Origin: lateral femoral condyle and lateral meniscus. Insert: posterior tibia (above soleal line)
Popliteus
Origin: lateral condyle of tibia and anterior interosseous membrane. Insert medial plantar aspect of medial cuneiform and 1st metatarsal
tibialis anterior
Origin: medial tubercle calcaneal tuberosity, plantar aponeurosis. Insert: Middle phalanges digits 2-5
Origin: oblique head (bases of metatarsals 2-4) and transverse head (ligaments of MTP joints). Insert: lateral side of base proximal phalanx of digit one
ADDuctor Hallucis
Origin: calcaneus. Insert Dorsal aponeurosis and proximal phalanx of the first toe
Extensor hallucis brevis
Gastrocnemius lateral head
Origin: lateral condyle of tibia, anterior interosseous membrane and fibular. Insert: middle and distal phalanges of lateral 4 digits.
Extensor digitorum longus
Origin: calcaneal tuberosity, plantar aponeurosis. Insert: Base of proximal phalanx digit five
Abductor digiti minimi
Origin: base of 5th metatarsal. Insert: Base of proximal phalanx
Flexor digiti minimi (brevis)
Origin: medial posterior tibia (below soleal line). Insert: plantar distal phalanges of lateral 4 digits
flexor digitorum longus
Origin: popliteal surface of medial femoral condyle. Insert: posterior calcaneus via calcaneal tendon.
Gastrocnemius medial head muscle
Origin: mid anterior fibular and interosseous membrane. Insert: dorsal phalanx of digit one
extensor hallucis longus
Origin: tendons of FDL. Insert: base of proximal phalanges (medial side) and extensor expansions digits 2-5

Origin: distal posterior fibular and interosseous membrane. Insert: distal phalanx of digit 1
flexor hallucis longus
Origin: lateral supracondylar line of femur and oblique popliteal ligament. Insert: posterior calcaneus via calcaneal tendon.
Plantaris
Origin: head and proximal lateral fibula. Insert: plantar first metatarsal and medial cuneiform.
fibularis longus
Origin: medial surface of calcaneus and calcaneal tuberosity. Insert: Tendon of FDL
Quadratus Plantae
Origin: medial sides of metatarsal shafts 3-5 (dorsal surface). Insert: 1st (medial side of proximal phalanx of digit 2) and 2-4 (lateral sides of proximal phalanges digits 2-4).
Dorsal interossei (D1-D4)
Origin: posterior tibia (below soleal line) interosseous membrane and proximal posterior fibular. Insert at navicular, all cuneiforms, cuboid and metatarsals 2-4.
Tibialis posterior
Origin: posterior head and proximal posterior surface of fibular, soleal line of tibia. Insert: posterior calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
Soleus
Origin: distal lateral fibula. Insert: dorsal lateral 5th metatarsal
