What is ASPD?
“I kiss thee ere I killed thee. No way but this, / Killing myself, to die upon a kiss.” (5.2, 420-1)
What is BPD? Suicidal thoughts can be an indicator of extreme mood fluctuations, common in OCD.
This character feels superior to others and often tells lies to get what they want.
Who is Iago?
Symptoms of this disorder include irritability, anxiety, and, especially, outbursts of, anger, and physical violence.
What is BPD?
“O, ay, as summer flies are in the shambles, / That quicken even with blowing! O thou weed, / Who art so lovely fair, and smell’st so sweet / That the sense aches at thee, would thou hadst / (ne’er) been born.” (4.2, 76-80)

Who is Othello?
A person with this disorder may feel attacked by others when interacting with them, and become jealous of them.
What is NPD?
“O, a thousand, a thousand times!—And then / of so gentle a condition!” (4.1, 213-14)
What is BPD? Othello calls Desdemona horrible, then praises her gentle nature, similar to splitting.
This character has an inflated sense of self, and is envious of others and their achievements.
Who is Iago?
Some may be hostile, aggressive, violent or threatening to others.
What is ASPD?
"I am one, sir, that comes to tell you your daughter / and the Moor are ⟨now⟩ making the beast with / two backs." (1.1, 129-131)
What is ASPD? Iago says this in order to manipulate Brabantio for his own benefit, which is a behavior associated with ASPD.
Who is Desdemona?
A symptom of this may be "splitting", which may cause a person to go between idolizing and denouncing a person.
What is BPD?
"Get me some poison, Iago, this night. I’ll not / expostulate with her lest her body and beauty / unprovide my mind again." (4.1, 225-227)
What is BPD? Othello himself mentions that Desdemona's beauty will "unprovide [his] mind." This shows his fluctuations between idolising her and putting her down.
This character is fluctuates quickly from low to high moods, which may be a symptom of bipolar disorder. They are also extremely gullible.
