Tell them, maybe later and get out a book to read together.

Raise your hand for permission to speak or leave the classroom!
What should you do when you enter the classroom in the morning?
Unpack our backpack, hang our backpack in the cubby, take out our lunch, quietly head to our desk and start our morning work!
As a class, show what it looks like to quietly go to our seat and start reading a book.
Quiet, focused on our book.
In the hallway, your classmate keeps turning and talking to you. What should you do?
Ignore them.
Give them the silent signal.
Don't talk back to them!

Be respectful to yourself, your classmates and your dear teacher!
If you see a classmate making a poor choice, what should you do?
Ask them to stop.

Tell your teacher (if you think they may hurt themselves or you!)
As a class, show me how to quietly come to your carpet spot, and do a body check to the teacher.

What are the magic words to use during snack time or when someone gives something to you?
Your friend in class wants to read with someone else today. What should you do?
Say, "okay, maybe we can read together tomorrow!"
