I’m specifically looking for what other companies are using (tool wise) as an intake point for hardware requests, software requests, ID provisioning, etc. currently we are using multiple forms and it’s cumbersome, plus the forms are in house made which I think is a risk from a support and maintenance perspective.

We want to discuss the state of Android in the Enterprise and what mobile device management product options are being deployed by other companies? We’re looking at several companies offering MDM solutions and need to satisfy security concerns, as well as get info on what issues persist with malware threats and how the products operate with/independent of the mobile OS (i.e. secure container).

Our goal is to put an abstraction layer in front of our Middleware layer. Most of this would be for our partners that make calls to our Middleware services. The ideas is that if we have to change to a different operation we don’t have to do it at the MW layer. For example a different coding format, changing from a SOAP to a REST call, etc. Also, some apps have to pull data from multiple places and it would be better to have this at a different layer than at the app due to persistence/syncronization issues.

Business relationship managers report to her. Looking for better ways to communicate with her employees what this role is and what it isn't. Some of the folks that are doing this new role are still viewed as if they are still in the role they did before. Jennifer wants to put in place a good description of what the business relationship manager is and what the role is as well as how to communicate that internally to their employees and staff. How do we get the senior people to interact with these folks and communicate their role to them?

Medline has had a sudden need to move towards a 24/7 availability model. Jeff Lynn is trying to build a more controlled environment and a model for their change schedule. For example, SAP is on a Tuesday/Thursday change schedule. How about the other apps? What can have downtime versus what cannot?

We did do the switch from Business Objects 6.5 to XIR3 already, so all reports (based on transactional data) necessary have been migrated. However, we took over the “old” security model and did not adapt to the new best practice security model recommended for BO XI. So now we have the trouble mainly with the analytical reporting capabilities that we are deploying these days, i.e. we have to deploy “static” reports to a folder structure system enabling users to drill down to a pre-defined lower granularity which is defined in the report through the folder structure.

I was working in the quantitative management group with a focus on software measurements (and process improvement) in the technology (software development) CIO area. Now, my new job is reporting. I am supposed to define, develop and produce reports that technology (software development and vendor software integration) CIOs (and a level below them) would like and use often. I am in the research phase and I am looking for some guidance in defining key performance indicators for technology, how and what to report to CIO level (we have technology CIO for each line of business) and the level below, what type of dashboards (and data presented) are common in the finance industry and anything else that can help me to draft the report/dashboard(s) for our executive management.
