Q. when an application is taken on Sept 2nd and approved for ESNAP, when will the client need to call and do the ESNAP 2nd interview by?
A. Sept 30th or the last day of the month.
Q. The client reports a job change on July 27 and is due a recertification in August. Do you enter the change through case change or recertification?
A. Do not act on the change when reported. The intake worker documents the reported change on the system and scans form PAFS-126 into ECF. The recertification worker reviews case comments and ECF prior to acting on the reported change during the recertification interview.
Q. Individual states they pay child support but not through Child Support Enforcement.
Would a Divorce Decree sighting the amount of child support the father is to pay be considered a legally obligated order since it’s signed by the courts?

Q. To be a Student and be eligible for SNAP you must?
A. . Be employed and paid for an average of 20 hours per week OR 80 hours per month;
Be self-employed and working an average 20 hours per week or 80 hours per month and receive weekly earnings at least equal to the Federal minimum wage multiplied by 20 hours per week or 80 hours per month (use gross amount of income to make this determination);
Participate in a State or Federally financed work study program during the regular school year.
Be responsible for the physical care of a dependent household member under age 6. Only one parent/stepparent per household can be responsible for the care of dependent household members under age 6. The

Q. What requirements do households have to meet to be categorically eligible?
A. All household members are authorized to receive, or currently receive TANF cash benefits or in-kind TANF benefits such as KTAP, Kinship Care, Work Incentive Reimbursement (WIN), or Family Alternatives Diversion (FAD).
All household members are SSI recipients

A. T – do not delay a expedited case. Worker should try and make all efforts to obtain as much verification as possible for a ESNAP case.
Q. Households should report changes by what day of the month?
A. the 10th day of the month.
Q. If child support not paid thru CSE, would we require the custodial parent to verify that they are paying this directly to them?
A. Verification of amount paid in child support is required to allow the deduction. This verification
does not have to be from the custodial parent
Q. If the head-of-household moves out you should?
A. 1. As the head-of-household has changed residency, and this is a change known to the agency, update the residency information; 2. Remove the remaining household members from the current SNAP case; 3. Complete a new application in the new head-of-household’s name; 4. Conduct an interview and obtain a signature in addition to the appropriate verification; 5. Issue a new EBT card in the new head-of-household’s name if needed; and 6. All new benefits issued will be accessed with the new EBT account and card.]
Q. T or F. Are 3 written statements from a non household member needed to verify the situation if a client cannot get verification.
A. no. Client statement can be used as last resort or 1 written statement from a non household member can be accepted.
Q. When pre-screening a client for expedited benefits what should you ask?
Are your liquid resources less than $100, and have a gross monthly income less than $150?

A. Individuals with $500 or more in child support arrearages are disqualified from receiving SNAP benefits. The individual is ineligible until he/she meets his/her monthly obligation amount on ALL court orders or is exempt.

A. Call/email/fax the state that they are coming from to verify if benefits are ended and if/when they ended.
