Getting each team member to share his or her idea or opinion is critical to a healthy discussion. Create a fun, yet fair, way to divide the time available for sharing thoughts. Everyone on the team should take his or her allotted time. Team members can share thoughts with an opening line like, "This is a thought off the top of my head," or "I'm just thinking out loud," or "This just popped into my head," to let everyone know that these are simply ideas, not necessarily desires. The ideas are not set in stone and we do not have "ownership" of the ideas at this point.

Each team member enjoys a unique point of view, analyzing problems and challenges from a different angle. Taking advantage of the various perspectives and applying them to the challenge or problem allows each team member to influence the resolution. Examining a problem from all sides provides for better solutions.
