A statement of proposed action or desired opinion presented for consideration and decision. REQUIRES a second and is debatable.
What is a main motion?
2/3's of the chapter roster to call a meeting to order.
What is a Quorum?
A privileged motion to officially close a meeting.
What is adjourn?
May 1 through April 30
When is the fiscal year?
More than half the votes cast by persons entitled to vote, not counting blanks or abstentions.
What is majority vote?
A motion that is used to change how a main motion is handled or debated
What is an Amendment/ Subsidiary motion?
A motion passes is this many people vote for it.

A vote taken by asking members to stand if they are in favor of the action, and then asking those who are opposed to stand, with the chair judging which side prevails. Usually used for a motion requiring a two-thirds vote for adoption.

It does not relate to business, and can interrupt. Includes: Recess and Time to Adjourn

A member must do this to be recognized by the President

To temporarily delay action on it because of more URGENT business. It the highest ranking subsidiary motion.

How many facets are there?
Both the person who made the motion and the person who seconded the motion must agree to make this happen
What is withdrawing a motion?
If a motion fails to receive the number of votes to pass, this happens.
What is 'motion is lost'?
A motion to bring back a tabled motion. Can be proposed (after the interrupting business is disposed of and there is no question pending) either at the same session the motion was tabled or the next session if the organization meets at least quarterly.
