What are the rules for tip credit?
-The employee must regularly receive more then $30 of tips per month.
-Employees must be informed that the employer is taking the tip credit.
-The employee’s tips must bring the employee’s wages up to the current minimum wage. If this does not occur the employer must make up the difference in wages.
-Credit card tips must be given to the employee by the next payday. The employer is allowed to deduct the credit card company’s percentage charge for use of the card.
