Brady
Skylease will "fly like an Eagle" into this Northeastern gateway - a new lease carrier for them this year.
PHL
(Skylease 747 - SDF-PHL-SDF)
This gateway's asking Santa Claus for A2Ns this year.
STL
(Requesting all empty positions from SDF and RFD be A2Ns when able)
This gateway may have its 4th parking spot unavailable at times, due to mandatory Texan Line Dancing Lessons (aka line striping/paint project planned).
SAT
(Must name both) These two "neighborly" gateways in the PAC, will have "ample capacity" to tap into, per their Holiday plan including "significant lift plans" added this year.
OAK and MHR
(both have been nice rescues for us so far this year, may have more opportunities/options coming from them soon)
No "spike" expected for this, post-peak.
USPS Volume levels
CKS1385 will operate SDF --> this Southeast gateway this season, turning back a 2DA postal flight.
MEM
(Kalitta 747 rotation starts bridge week)
This gateway will produce a wealth of ferry flight options for us this year.
STL
(multiple inbound and outbound flights daily)
DEN will bring us their 2DA/USPS volume via this lease carrier.
Kalitta 747
(begins December 9th)
UPS5911, originating from this fellow Basin located gateway, will move USPS volume to SDF, relieving some of LAX's USPS demands.
SBD
(UPS5911 SBD-SDF begins Cyber Week)
These will not be adjusted for peak, remaining the same as year-round operations.
USPS Commit Times
This Northeastern gateway's biggest concern this season could put a "freeze" on operations.
MHT
(3 Deice Trucks with mechanically poor history)
(Must name both) These two gateways will have their normally scheduled Saturday morning SFAC replaced with a brown-tail sleigh Super Saturday morning.
FWA and SBN
(UPS1468 SDF-FWA-SBN will operate Super Saturday morning - could be a useful rescue resource on the backend for us that morning)
This gateway believes its early out flight has been on the good list this year - due to it being their "2DA roll" jet to make room for their USPS volume.
IAH
(0773 IAH-SDF will be their "out" for heavy postal mornings, requesting no cancellations, if avoidable)
This gateway's runway construction/restrictions will be paused during Cyber week, returning again during Bridge week.
KOA
December 17th, 2024.
December 18th, 2024.
(Tuesday, highest A/C turns through SDF; Wednesday, highest volume projected)
This Northeastern gateway may think "3's a crowd" periodically throughout peak.
BOS
(3rd parking spot will be sporadically available throughout peak)
(Must name all 3) These three Northcentral gateways, will feel some "California love", as they will receive 2DA flights from ONT this year.
LAN, LCK and DTW
(ONT-LAN-LCK and ONT-DTW direct - starts Thanksgiving week -- will primarily be used for 2DA/3DS volume)
(Must name both) Utilizing these two Lone Star gateways as "alternate flows" for DFW volume, will likely result in S/F, as was the case often last year.
IAH and SAT
(SDF used these alts too often last year causing service issues for DFW getting the volume from IAH/SAT)
Kalitta will assist this gateway's largest peak concern, heavily projected USPS volume, beginning Bridge week.
PHX
(Tuesdays are PHX's highest concern with USPS capacity)
December 2nd thru December 30th. 5 Total.
SDF Monday operations/sorts
For this Southern gateway, 4 + 44 does in fact equal 5 this year.
ATL
(Will utilize "Ramp 44" to gain a 5th Parking Spot for Peak)
RFD's largest peak concern this year is hub breakdowns with increased USPS volume in the network - due to the fact they are already running - this.
at "Maximum Flow Capacity"
(RFD hub hits their peak flow rates with USPS during the normal year -- the 35-40% USPS increase expected in the Network could push the hub/belts to their limits)
Normally more concerned with their late in bypass connections, this gateway will turn its concerns inside their own hub as postal capacity concerns are present due to the USPS increase expected.
DFW 2DA Hub
(40% increase in USPS outbound volume expected compared to YR figures)
(Must name minimum 3 out of 4) These 4 gateways - located either in the Northeast or North Central regions - will see direct USPS flights from ONT this peak.
DTW, ORD, MHT, and PIT
(Direct USPS lanes added - bypass lanes added: ONT-JFK and ONT-SDF-ATL)
Occurring consecutively for 25 days, starting November 30th.
SDF processes both small pkg and USPS volume
(During the 2DA/Sat/Sun sorts)
