Where can you find future due dates and test dates in all of your classes?
What is a syllabus. Each class offers a syllabus to lay out grading policies, schedules, class policies, and more. If you have a question about a class, check your syllabus first before asking a professor.

Where can you go to relieve stress?
What is gym/outside/quiet space/ whatever works for you! We suggest rec/club sports or going to the gym to offer continuous stress relief. However, during high stress time periods, we suggest finding a stress relief technique that works for you.

Where can you go to meet individually with a professor?
What is Office Hours. Each professor offers a time during the week where they are available to meet with students. Normally, if this time is not convenient for you, professors may permit an alternate time to meet with you. Office hours are great for asking questions, clarifying things from the lecture, and getting to know your professor.

Give an example of a good study area other than your dorm room.
What is The library, Math emporium, Graduate Life Center, Torgerson Bridge, Litton Reaves, Study lounges. Find an area away from where you regularly sleep/eat/search Facebook. Designating a space for just studying will help you focus when you are ready to study.

Where should you keep your lab goggles?
What is your backpack/within sight before your lab. In order to keep from missing lab or having to purchase new goggles for lab, keep them in your backpack at all times or within sight before leaving for class so you never forget them.

Where should you put due dates/test dates from your syllabus?
What is a planner/calendar. To stay ahead and never miss a due date, add all "important" dates from your syllabus to your planner. This way, you will never have to guess what tests or assignments you have that week.

Where can you go for FREE tutoring?
What is the Student Success Center. This program offers tutoring Monday- Thursday from 11:00am-8:00pm. Most HNFE classes offer review sessions prior to a test for further help. Throughout the semester, group studying can also benefit learning. However you study, DO NOT get behind.

What is meet with the professor to go over the assignment/test. This will help you prepare for the final exam and better understand the material

What can you do with your phone/laptop in class to help focus?
What is turn on do not disturb, use apps like "Studious" and "Self Control", turn device OFF, etc. By using apps or turning devices off, there is a smaller chance of becoming distracted by social media, texts, and other schoolwork in class.

What is student seminars on success. Throughout the semester, CALS will send out e-mails and weekly newsletters that keep students informed about seminars on success and the current happenings in your college.

Where can you go to get writing assistance?
What is the Writing Center in the library. This is a free service to all students at any level that deal with reading and writing assignments from any course. Walk-ins and appointments are available.

Why might it be important to have a good relationship with one to two (or more) professors?
What is Letters of Reference When applying for Graduate School/Professional Programs, letters of reference are normally required/suggested from academic professionals (your professors). Rather than having a general letter (or no letter written), knowing your professor allows for a personalized letter and a better chance of admittance.

What can you do after a lecture to promote better retention of the information?
What is rewrite/review the notes taken in the lecture the same day. By rewriting the material, you are more likely to remember the information. Reviewing the information after class helps you to better understand material and identify what you need to spend more time on. Additionally, you can prepare questions to ask the professor in advance of the test.

When does Course Request for Spring 2015 open?
What is October 21-28. Course Request is a great way to request enrollment in classes prior to the drop/add period. It also helps departments in preparing for the predicted number of openings and class sections. It is important to know when course request is offered and to participate in this opportunity.

How many hours a week should be studied per credit hour?
What is 2-3 hours per credit hour. A general rule of thumb is to study 2-3 hours for every credit hour you are taking. For example a 3 credit hour class= 6-9 hours of studying for that class every week

Where can you get help in chemistry?
What is the CLC/ Chemistry Learning Center. In 301 Hahn Hall North, the CLC is available for Chemistry help in your lecture or lab.

What program allows students with a meal plan to take their professors out to eat to get to know them better?
What is Dine with Faculty program The dine with faculty program allows students to take their professors out to eat at D2 or Owens Food Court once a month. This is a great way to get to know your professors more personally.

What can you do if you have 3 final exams planned within a 24 hour period?
What is fill out an exam change form. One exam can be moved if three exams are planned in a 24 hour period. Two exams can be moved if four or more exams are planned in a 24 hour period. These forms are due November 21, so plan ahead and know your final exam schedule.

Where should you keep your iClicker?
What is your backpack. Always keep your iClicker handy. That extra attendance grade could be the difference between and A- and A+! Note: Not all classes use iClicker for extra credit. Some require attendance while others do not use iClicker.

What is one of the best ways to manage your time?
What is getting involved in other activities. This forces you to keep an organized schedule. Joining a club, sport, fraternity, or soroity makes you conscious of utilizing your free time.

What fun stress relief is provided during finals week?
What is puppies, grilled cheese and hot chocolate. Starting the day after Reading Day, the library staff and other faculty cook grilled cheeses and hot chocolate/coffee starting at 11 in the library. Puppies are also brought in for petting and stress relief.

What type of final exam can you not change?
What is a common time exam. A common time exam is usually for a large class where multiple class sections take the same exam at the same time/place.

What is something you should do each semester?
What is meeting with your academic adviser and review your four-year plan. Make sure that every semester you are keeping up with your plan and making sure that you are taking the right classes. Continue to check the 2018 check sheet for changes and meet with your adviser so they can tell you if you need anything in order to graduate on time.
