The Kindly Ones/Furies look like 3 really old, wrinkly ladies. One of them is Mrs. Dodds. When they turned into monsters, they had "leathery brown hag bodies with bat's wings and hands and feet like gargoyle claws." They also had fiery whips.
Annabeth gives Percy her Yankees baseball cap that allows Percy to turn invisible and slip by the Furies. However, he doesn't want to leave Annabeth and Grover behind so they fight back. Percy uses his sword, Riptide, to help fight them and Annabeth and Grover helped too.
