Why Must Marjane start wearing the Veil? How do her classmates react? 

Islamic Revolution (1979) - It began obligatory to wear the veil at school in 1980. Students did not like it and didn't really understand why they had to wear it.

Her Mother is a strong powerful women. Her photograph was even taken during a demonstration. (Marjane is proud of her).

What's the difference between what Marjane learns in school about the Shah's power and what her Father tell her?

God did not choose the king (Shah). The father of the Shah organized the overthrow of the emperor with the help of the British so that he could be King in exchange for oil to Britian

She wants to fix injustices - she notices how some people have more then other people.

Why do you think God stops visiting Marjane at the end of the chapter? 

With everything that is happening, she found that he is unable to find answers to her questions. Why was she not allowed to protest? ect...

Why was Marjane's grandfather imprisoned? What effect did this have on his family? 

He was an intellectual who read Marx and became a communist after he was made prime minister by the Shah. They put him in prison for being a communist, thus creating stress and anxiety for his family.
