Philip is constantly bullied at school because of the way he dresses. He can't help it because his family doesn't have much money, but his classmates don't seem to care
Character vs. Group
In this part of the plot structure, the setting, main characters and main conflict are introduced.
What is exposition?
As the class started and the rain continued, some of the students realized there might be a problem. A large puddle began to form over one of the canopies. The puddle grew and grew and grew.
Conflict & Rising action
Julia's pony is out in the neighbor's field over a mile away and there's a terrible blizzard raging. She worries that the pony won't survive the storm and wants to go save it, but her father told her she must not go out.
What is character vs. character?
In a world where everyone is using VR and cell phones, face to face communication has been completely eliminated. However, Philip still values human relationships. He vows to never use VR or cell phones again.
Character vs. society
In this part of any story, the loose ends get tied up and the conflict gets resolved.
What is falling action?
All of a sudden, the canopy failed and the huge puddle of water crashed to the ground, drenching half of the class!
Climax
Julia and her family are about to lose the family farm. They haven't had enough money to pay their taxes since a new law doubled their property taxes!

Suspense and interest build in this part of the plot structure, and the conflict continues to develop and grow.
What is rising action?
As other teachers came to help, they decided the best option might be to move the class to a classroom that wasn't being used at the time
Falling action
Julia has always been told that she will grow up to marry a farmer and be a farmer's wife. What she really wants to do is ride horsed and join the rodeo.
What is character vs. fate?
Mr. Grossenbacher can't decide what he should do about tomorrow's quiz. Should students still have to take it? Or should he give them a break and give them all 100%?
Because the conflict has been resolved, the story comes to a reasonable ending in this part of the plot structure.
What is resolution?
After a few minutes, the 6th grade class was all settled in and learning their math lesson for the day.
