What are forms of emotional abuse?

Yelling, screaming, name calling, shaming, negative comparisons to other, telling them they are bad, no good, worthless, or a mistake. Also includes failure to provide the affection and support necessary for the development of a child's emotional, social, physical and intellectual wellbeing. This includes ignoring, lack if appropriate physical attention, saying "I love you", withdrawal of attention, lack of positive reinforcement.

Should staff ever be alone with a child or tween?

NO. Grab a 1:2 ratio - 1 staff to 2 children OR 2 staff to 1 child.

If you have 1 child left during pickups, please merge with another group.

Never put yourself in a compromising position with a child or a tween; always make sure you have another staff within visible distance
