What are some forms of physical abuse?
Though games and creative play are less structured than the camp day, what are some details counselors should be aware of?
Staying active with kids, stay off your phone, spacing between counselors, and listen to radios for sign-out calls (AND RESPOND)
Where can you find field trip arrival times, departure times, and other important details for the day?

What should you do in the event of a fire?
Headcount, single file line, camper sandwich, go to basketball courts, remain calm. If manageable, use a fire extinguisher and call 911!

911, then notify office staff.
What are some forms of neglect?
Lack of supervision, inappropriate housing or shelter, inadequate provision of food, inappropriate clothing for season or weather, abandonment, denial of medical care, inadequate hygiene.

Move away from the windows and shelves. Duck, cover, and hold on. Stand against the interior wall if possible until the shaking ends.

Notify office staff immediately, (if there is another staff member to watch remaining camper.)
What are forms of emotional abuse?
Yelling, screaming, name calling, shaming, negative comparisons to other, telling them they are bad, no good, worthless, or a mistake. Also includes failure to provide the affection and support necessary for the development of a child's emotional, social, physical and intellectual wellbeing. This includes ignoring, lack if appropriate physical attention, saying "I love you", withdrawal of attention, lack of positive reinforcement.

NO. Grab a 1:2 ratio - 1 staff to 2 children OR 2 staff to 1 child.
If you have 1 child left during pickups, please merge with another group.
Never put yourself in a compromising position with a child or a tween; always make sure you have another staff within visible distance
