What should you do if you are offered a tip from a campers family?
Politely refuse and request the gratuity be given as a donation. You can also direct them to speak with the director (John).
When campers are present can you have medication on your person?
No - all medications of any kind must be turned into the nurse when campers are on site.
When do campers arrive and leave?
Depart: 4pm on Friday
What do you do if you see someone who looks to be trespassing on camp?
You approach them and ask if they need assistance. If necessary, call a leadership member.
Are you allowed to go into your friends cabin?
No - you are not allowed into other people's living areas. If you want to hangout with your friends, you may do so in other areas.
Campers and volunteers are also not allowed in people's living areas.
How many formal evaluations will you receive this summer?
Lime disease - make sure you're campers are wearing bug spray!!!
True or False: It is okay to disclose information about a camper to another staff memeber.
False - It is never okay to share personal information about campers to anyone.
What are the three emergency procedure drills held here at camp?
Fire drill, missing person drill, and waterfront emergency drill.
When are you allowed to use your phone here at camp?
When campers are present, phones are not to be used. You may use it on your break and time off.
If you are of the legal drinking age here in America, are you allowed to drink at camp?
No - even if you are 21, you are not allowed to be intoxicated at camp. If you drink off site, you need to be sober when you arrive back at camp.
What do you do if a camper is caught with drugs or alcohol?
Immediately confiscate the substance and call John asap.
Do CITs and volunteers count for rule of three?
No - a staff member must be present at all times for it to be a rule of three.
Who should media/news station talk to if they were to arrive on camp?
Executive director (John)
Are relationships between counselors allowed?
Yes - they just need to be kept professional and out of the eyes of the campers & parents.
How long of a break will you receive every day?
One hour
Who are some recourses if you are struggling with mental health?
Abby JV, John, Scott (chaplin), or camp nurse.

Safety, Servanthood, Stewardship, and self-esteem.

Can you leave your cabin at any point after lights out?
No - you must remain with your campers in the cabin from lights out until breakfast the next morning.
When are you on duty?
Within how many hours are you expected to report child abuse and/or neglect?
Name one of the THREE sets of ratios for overnight
6-8 yers old: 1 staff per 6 campers
9-14 years old: 1 staff per 8 campers
15-18 years old: 1 staff per 10 campers
What are our evacuation locations?
Ponaganset High School or any location specified by emergency management agency officials.
Are apple watches allowed here at camp?
Yes - same rule for phones: do not be texting on it, only use it for time.
