Case Review
These are the two main players in a case review.
Who is a Case Reviewer and a Quality Assurance staff?
The person assigned to provide care to the target child while they are under the care, custody, and responsibility of the agency.
Who is a foster parent?
This is typically done at the county level in which the QA staff will review the completed OSRI and input their QA notes into OMS.
What is 1st level QA?
A child with braces who has not been to the dentist in 14 months.
What is an oversight concern?
This is the number of coaching calls following the 4-day, in-person training.
What is three coaching calls?
These types of cases are specifically identified on a case list during the federal review.
What is a CFSR case?
A person who holds an important role during the PUR and they should be interviewed if they are applicable in the OSRI.
Who is a Key Participant?
A county will submit this when they need to retain or eliminate a case.

What are Face Sheet Dates?
Someone who has attended the 4-day, in-person training, attended all coaching calls, and passed their test case.
Who is a (certified) Case Reviewer?*
This a document created by the counties that identifies their strengths, challenges, and proposed solutions. It is submitted to CDSS and can be updated at any time.
What is an Improvement and Sustainability Plan?
Case reviewers complete their reviews using this which contains an electronic version of the OSRI.
What is the Online Management System (OMS)?
This is a database platform used by the counties to receive the county case lists, submit completed cases to CDSS, and submit inquiries on cases that need to be eliminated or retained.
What is Salesforce?
Counties with 20 or fewer cases may do this.
What is contract back?
Someone who has attended a specific 2-day, in-person training and a certified Case Reviewer.
Who is a QA Staff?
The 3 types of outcomes that the OSRI rates.
What is Safety, Permanency and Well-Being?
The process in which an OSRI rating is changed from what the tool indicates. This typically occurs in short-term FC cases.
What is an Override Procedure?
This occurs early in the case process. During this time, the case reviewer is discussing the case with the QA staff through conversations, emails, or at team meetings.
What is Informal QA?
A case reviewer discovers that they detained the TC when the case opened 2 years prior to the PUR.
What is a conflict of interest?
Quarterly training sessions hosted by the Regional Training Academies.
What are Learning Collaboratives?
Secondary oversight occurs on these types of cases.
What is CFSR and PIP cases?
In the OSRI, a biological parent had their parental rights terminated (TPR) during the entire PUR.
What is an Applicability Exclusion? (N/A)
This is due by the beginning of the last month of the quarter and are considered by the CDSS case review management team on a case-by-case basis.
What is a Case Submission Extension Request?
An “Other” inquiry comes in because the County no longer has _____ over the case during the PUR.
What is jurisdiction?
This Regional Training Academy hosts the 4-day, in-person training during the months of April, May, or June.
