How do you Bridle?
1. Stand on the horse's left
2. Hold Crown Piece in right hand
3. Use left thumb to put pressure on the side of the horse's mouth on the bars to open
4. Guide bit gently into horses mouth while lifting Head Stall with right hand
5. Gently push ears forward through the Crown Piece
6. Adjust bridle fit accordingly and buckle throat latch and noseband
What does a Leverage Bit do?
- It applies pressure on the corners of the mouth and on the poll compared to what is being applied to the reins.
- (Severity depends on shank and ports)
How do you put a blanket on?
- Start from the chest, then do the stomach straps (in a cross) and then the leg straps (in a cross)
What does a Breastplate do?
It holds the saddle in place and prevents it from slipping back.
It is used on horses with high withers, hollow backs, and big shoulders
