Yes. Gingy has a legitimate injury that makes it painful for him to run. Tom is not asking to sit out completely and is offering to do a different workout to earn the credit. This would be reasonable.

Shrek really dislikes math class. He isn't good at math and doesn't see the point in learning math since he can just use a calculator. He asks his teacher if he could use a calculator on his test since "everyone uses calculators all the time anyway." Would this be a reasonable accommodation?

No. Shrek disliking and struggling with math is not a reason for him to get to use a calculator on his test when everyone else has to take the test without a calculator.
