Yes. As soon as you flash the break card, receive acknowledgement from the teacher/staff member, you are able to go directly to the designated area.
Can I take a break in my outside classes?
Yes! You need to show your pass to your staff member and head directly to the break area and SIT DOWN!
Can you receive more than 1 referral in a day?
Yes.

Any positive boystown behavior that can be observed!

If you leave without permission OR you do not follow the staff member's instructions on where to go or what to do you could receive a referral.

Does the student ever get a chance to explain their side of what happened?
Yes-
We give you a paper to explain why you received your referral and to explain the situation. We also allow you to have conversations with staff members to address any questions you have as the student.

What does it mean if your iPad is "put away"
Your iPad needs to be screen off, cover on, and placed under your desk or in your assigned area.
What is expected when you are taking a break?
You will be in an area that allows you to be free of distraction and other frustrations. You will be asked to write down why you are in the area and what caused the frustration. (If you don't want to write, please raise your hand and ask for someone to talk to) Once your time is up, you will need to have a conversation with a staff member to discuss your frustrations and then return back to the class you left!
How often should you be checking your canvas pages for your outside classes?
Every day!
