What if you have to use the restroom?
There are several times during the day you can use the restroom. Before and after school, before and after recess and lunch. If you have to during the school day, you can, but NOT when the teacher is explaining how to do something.
What does it look like when we enter the room after being outside?
Come in quietly. If you talk, do it with a whisper.
What does it look like when I get out of my chair?
You always push your chair in when you get out of your chair.
What does it look like in the hall when the class is walking somewhere?
S- tand in a straight line (Start at the hair)

What does it look like when we are walking to recess?
Same walking procedure as in the Hall (S.T.A.R)
When you are outside on the concrete, walk!
You can run on the grass.
What if I need to get a drink of water?
If you bring a water bottle, it can be by the leg of your chair. If it rolls around, make sure and put it in the red container, by the water fountain.
Please get water before and after recess. If you need to during work time, you need to ask the teacher if you don't have a water bottle.
When I'm putting things in my locker, what should it look like?
You put your things in quietly and quickly. When closing the locker door, do it quietly.
What does it look like when you are moving in the classroom?
Walk, and make sure you are respectful of others and their personal space.
What if you need to say something to someone in the hall?
You whisper, otherwise wait until you get to your destination. Other students are still learning in their classrooms.
What does it look like when we slide down the slide?
Sit on your pockets all the way down. No standing or climbing up from the bottom to the top. Keep space between you and the person that went in front of you.
What is the rule for hand washing?
We wash our hands with soap and water after using the restroom and before leaving for lunch.
Make sure to wash your hands with soap for 20 sec. while the water is off. Then rinse off the soap.
Happy Birthday is a good song to sing for 20 seconds.
Where do I put my red folder everyday?
This folder is taken home and brought back to school EVERY day. Please return your homework and notes to parents and the teacher, in the folder that says Homework on it.
What do I do when I want to say something in class?
Always RAISE YOUR HAND before talking, UNLESS the teacher says you don't need to.
What does it look like when we line up outside of the lunchroom?
The same as when we are walking down the hall.

Can we bring our own recess balls and other equipment from home to use?
No, there is equipment for you to use here at school.
What do we do for Emergency drills?
We will have an emergency drill at least once a month. Fire drills are the most common. When you hear the alarm, make sure you are in the classroom, line up quietly, then we will walk outside and stand in line on the grass.
When do I sharpen my pencil?
How many pencils should I have in my desk at all times?
Only sharpen your pencil at the very beginning of the school day, before the bell rings.
You should have 3 pencils in your desk at all times. If your pencil breaks during the day, you can use another in your desk.
What does it look like when you are ready to line up?
You are ready when you are quietly sitting in your chair. When the teacher calls your row you quietly stand up, push your chair in, and line up.
What should it look like in the lunchroom when we are there?
We should be quietly sitting in our seats eating. If you talk too much, you won't have time to eat.
What if I have a question and the teacher is busy?
Ask 3 people around you, quietly.
What are the 3 main rules on our school and class?

What does it look like when I sit in my seat, at my desk?
Your feet are on the floor, your arms are on your desk, your back is tall, and you are looking at the teacher.
What does it look like when you are in line in the room?
You are facing the door, no talking, and you are in line behind the person in front of you (stare at the hair).
How do we carry our books on the way to the library?
You 'hug' them with both arms in front of you.
Can I bring toys from home?
No. If you bring something and are playing with it, it will get taken away until the end of the day. Then you can have it back. If you bring it a second time, the teacher gets it and you don't get it back.
If you bring money for a reason, put it in an envelope, with your name on it and keep in your desk, or give to the teacher.
