How can I find out what we are going to do in class today?
The plan for the day is on the board.
I was out yesterday. Do I need to do anything?
Of course! You are responsible for completing any missing work. Late work will be accepted until a due date (depending on the assignment).
Can I eat in the classroom?
Nope, unless you are in the class period that has break (or in lunch detention) in here. This goes for candy AND any drink that is not water.
Where do I eat lunch?
You will typically eat lunch with your 4th period class. You will walk down and back with that class and teacher.
Each month, there will be a rotating schedule of teacher's hosting lunch detention. You will find this schedule on classroom doors.
How do I know if I have homework today?
It is listed on the board (by Homework/ Reminders). Any classwork not completed during class becomes homework, as well.
Where can I get information about what I missed?
Go to Canvas! Click on the date that matches the day you missed (recent dates are at the bottom). You will see a summary of the lesson, as well as links to resources, like presentations and review games. You will also see reminders about due dates, tests, etc.
My Chromebook is dead. What do I need to do?
You are welcome to charge your Chromebook in the back of the class.
My BFF is in another 4th period class. Can I sit with them?
Usually, YES- if you have 5 Gator Goods to "pay" for it.
What is break detention?
How do I know which part of the board to look at?
There is a sign at the top of each side of the board that tells you which subject (Science or Georgia Studies) you are looking at.
Where do I get papers that were handed out while I was out?
Go to the crates by the door. There is one for Science and one for Georgia Studies. Go to the hanging file with the DATE of the day you missed- you will see the extra copies from that day. Be sure to get one of each paper!
I forgot to bring or to charge my Chromebook. Help!
If you need to borrow one of mine in the meantime (for classwork), you my borrow one. PLEASE plug it in when you are done.
I have to go to the restroom. What do I need to do?
Start a SmartPass. Once your teacher gives you permission, and the system approves it, you may go. There is a time-limit- there will be consequences for repeatedly returning past the time.
Where is ISS?
It is at the front of the 8th grade hallway.
I forgot to write down my homework. What do I do?
Go to Canvas! Each day, there will be a post for that day (listed by DATE). You will see a summary of what we did, as well as reminders about homework and upcoming events, like tests.
Most classrooms have magnets outside of the door. You can put your note under the magnet of ANY class. Someone from the office will pick these up.
Do I have to sit in my assigned seat?
Yes, unless told otherwise.
What do I need to do before I leave the cafeteria?
Clean up after yourself!
I did not turn in my work. What happens?
I forgot where I need to go for Gator Time. How can I find that information?
I try to keep the schedule on the GATOR SCHEDULE on the board.
I am going to a doctor appointment today. How will I know when it is time for me to go?
The office will notify the teacher you are with at that time.
I lost my paperwork/ worksheet. Can I get another copy?
Yes, as long as there is one. Go to the extra copies bin (like when you are absent) to grab that. (Note: if they are all gone, you will need to find a way to print another copy- from Canvas).
Can I use the restroom during lunch?
With permission from your 4th period teacher, yes.
Can I use my cellphone at school?
Not without specific permission from the teacher AT THAT TIME. Typically, you will not have permission, but with an appropriate reason, you may receive the OK.
