A client asks "how can I send a series of follow up emails a couple of months after I lose an opportunity? I just want this to be for new opportunities going forward, I don't want to send this to my opportunities that I lost in the recent past." How would you answer?

First, you'll want to make sure there is a lookup field on the opportunity for the main contact. You will want to create a static list for lost opportunities. Then build a workflow automation with the criteria of opportunity lost, and then a time trigger for 60 days after the workflow is triggered. On that time trigger, the action will be to add that main contact to the lost opportunity static list. Then you would have a journey set up for the lost opportunity list that is always running.
