This person is in charge of coming up with a creative concept for a theatrical piece and executing it using blocking and movement with the actors.
Who is a director?
A set designer will make one of these to show the intracacies of a set on a smaller scale.
What is a model?
Not just in theatre, this tool is used to divide different materials evenly with a sharp blade
What is a saw?
This person is in charge of creating the scenic design for a production. They create models and renderings, and ultimately they help build and produce the full sized set.
Who is the set designer?
This person is considered a "lead" in a theatrical production. Most often, they have to learn the most lines and headline a show. They usually are paid more than the other actors in a production.
Who is the principal actor?
This person is in charge of casting a show. They sit in on auditions and provide feedback and thoughts to the director, artistic director, and producers.
Who is a casting director?
Costume and makeup designers will create/draw these to show their ideas before building, creating, or purchasing supplies.
What are sketches?
In theatre, this describes the short curtains on stage right and left. It also describes one of our bodily appendages.
What is a leg?
This person is in charge of setting the lights for a production. They pay attention to the ambiance and feel of a scene and use the lights to create mood onstage. They also set the cues and go through them live during a production.
These people are cast in smaller roles in a theatrical production. They do not headline, but they provide the background, secondary, and filler roles in a show.
Who are ensemble actors?
This person is in charge of marketing for a production or production company. They will run campaigns through print, film, or various social media channels.
Who is a marketing manager/social media coordinator?
Directors give actors this. It is the movement that is used onstage during scenes.
What is blocking?
This man was one of the most prominent producers in the early days of musical theatre. He was also responsible for producing Showboat.
Who is Lorenz Ziegfeld?
This person is in charge of creating and compiling the clothing and textiles for a production. They might be skilled in sewing and clothing production.
Who is the costume designer?
These people work in the pit of a show. They play the instruments that provide music for a show or musical.
Who is the orchestra?
This person provides funding to a production company. They treat the productions like an investment and their goal is to get their money back, and then some.
Who is a producer?
All members of the production team must follow this. It is the financial constraints set forth by the producers and the financial teams.
What is a budget?
This piece, that looks similar to a stencil, is used to create fun lighting designs on the stage. Here at Maspeth, we have one installed that shows snowflakes up on the stage.
This person is in charge of compiling or creating all of the objects used by the actors onstage during a production. They are often very creative in the ways of eye trickery.
Who is the props master?
These people provide live sound effects for a production. They must watch the action onstage and time their effects just right to ensure that the product looks realistic.
Who is a foley artist?
This person is in charge of creative decisions for the entire production company. They are in charge of picking a season, providing marketing feedback, and overseeing the overall operations.
Who is the artistic director?
A stage manager does this during a production. They are on a headset with the lighting, sound, and deck crew to ensure that all cues are followed at the right time.
What is calling a show?
