The sample cannot be contaminated with urine or toilet water, can be collected in a clean container or on top of plastic wrap.
Collect a small amount of stool by inserting the tip of the swab into the stool specimen while rotating it. Bloody, slimy, or liquid portions of the stool should be selected. Do not pour out the liquid. Be sure to write the collection date and time on the sample and return it to the lab ASAP.

What do you do if a patient drops off a urine container or a swab with paperwork however the container has no name or patient identifier on it?
The test cannot be processed without the container being labeled properly. You will need to discard the sample and call the patient explaining the situation nd ask them to do a recollect ASAP.
What do you need to remember how a urine gonorrhea and chlamydia?
The patient can NOT have gone to the bathroom for 1 hour before the test. It is VERY important to catch the very first drop of urine into the container and STOP between 30-60 mL. If the sample is under 30 or over 60 it will be rejected. If any other urine samples are needed at the same time you need 2 containers.
