First Impressions
If you are sick with a fever and cannot get out of bed, you should do this.
What is call your workplace/supervisor and Project SEARCH to let them know you're staying home sick?
Two of these things can be done with your body and/or face to show you are interested and listening to the Interviewer.
Any 2 would be accepted: What is lean forward; good eye contact; smile; nod your head to show listening; calm hands and feet.
This is what we refer to students in Project SEARCH as.
What are interns?
This thing will get you in trouble if you pull it out to look up something unless instructed to, both at work and in class.
What is your personal cell phone?
Staff at HSC are not allowed to wear these items because they can cause others to have breathing problems (respiratory distress).
What are scented products?
This word is used to cover expectations for work, like following the dress code (ex: clean clothes and no jeans, hoodies, or T shirts with pictures); cleanliness (ex: Clean, combed hair); and proper hand washing.
What is hygiene?
At the end of an interview you should always do this.
What is say thank you and smile?
You will get to try three of these this year at Project SEARCH.
What are internships?
We must show this to everyone in class no matter their race, sexuality, gender, ethnicity, religion, or disability.
What is respect?
These things are required to be worn at all times unless you are eating, drinking, and socially distanced at HSC Winnipeg. It's the rule.
What are masks?
You will need to get this information on your first day in case you are late or absent.
What is my manager's or the worksite's contact information for calling in?
You should wear this to an interview.
What is business professional and/or business casual (depending on the job) clothing?
I need to be sure to wear this every day at HSC and not lose it or I will have to report it missing.
What is my Identification Card?
When you are not sure what you are supposed to be doing or you feel stuck, you should do this.
What is raise your hand and ask for help?
We do these things to be safe when walking in the tunnels (name 3!).
While learning something new on the job it's expected that you do these one of three things to communicate you are paying attention.
What are look at the person and what they are showing you, listen, and ask questions. (sometimes take notes!)
