Being aware of triggers is a coping stragety for what emotion?

Anger

Create a list of your triggers and review them daily. Reviewing your triggers will keep them fresh in your mind, increasing the likelihood you notice them before they become a problem.

Oftentimes, the best way to deal with a trigger is to avoid it. This might mean making changes to your lifestyle, relationships, or daily routine.

Because it isn’t always possible to avoid triggers, have a plan when you must face them. For example, avoid touchy conversations when you are tired, hungry, or upset.

Name one tip we discussed about how to recieve negative feedback.

  • Be sure that you understand the feedback. If you do not understand, ask clarifyingquestions. If you do not understand, you will not be able to act on the feedback toimprove.

  • It is important to remember that negative feedback is not personal. Remember, if theydid not want you to be around/employed, they would not give you the feedback that willhelp you improve!

  • Take time to process your emotions. It is not easy to receive negative feedback. If yourinitial reaction is to be angry/defensive/to cry, take a deep breath, stay calm, if neededask to be excused for a minute. Once the conversation has ended, you can gosomewhere private to process your emotions if needed.

  • When you receive some tough feedback, try to see it from the other’s point of view. Ifyou were a manager and you had an employee doing x, y or z, would you want them tocontinue?
