Cognition is the mental processing of thoughts within the mind that you can be consciously aware of. Perception is any cognition related to your 5 senses

"Brain" refers to the physical and biological aspects of a topic, while "Behavior" refers to the psychological and non physical aspects of a topic.

When the study doesn't focus on any psychological concepts, it purely focuses on anatomical/physiological concepts.
