With the upcoming election, we will most likely see an uptick in political accounts being set up. What types of documentation can we accept to prove that they are a tax exempt/non profit?

Believe it or not a 501c form can be followed by numbers 1-29. We mostly see 3, and sometimes 6. But ANY 501c documentation, no matter the number that follows is acceptable. Keep in mind that 501c designations are for non-profit organizations like the Red Cross, or Ronald McDonald House, etc. A Government agency or a school district would be a different story. They are also tax exempt and fit the profile of a Public Interest account, but they will not have 501c documentation. What they will have is a Certificate of Exemption which are absolutely acceptable. Just double check the dates (some have expiration dates, so you want to make sure it's current.)

What is not allowed? W9 or any other documentation that doesn't officially show that the IRS considers them exempt from taxation.

You a processing an Agency NMF and leave voice mail to verbally confirm the NMF. There are no red flags, we just need source authorization. Can we send the NMF Email Confirmation (not on hold) template?

Yes because we wouldn't hold account set up for Source Auth. We just need to let the client know we need that before the release can go out.

NMR - per Carries' email don't waste your time figuring out who to assign to. No account manger = NMR. Client Services Managers and the sales people will figure out who to assign the account to behind the scenes.

Fill out a lead form, and keep track of the lead in SFDC until it gets converted. Then add an opp on the new account. It doesn't hurt to let an iNBD know too, if you see the lead has been assigned.

We do - the CCS Support team. As of right now, we're still considering this scenario as part of CCS NMF account setup steps.

Push back on the requester of the NMF and tell them the manager of the sales rep needs to do a GSD ticket request to add this person to both Oracle and Salesforce.
