What is our building address and building number

10051 Brickyard Way, Manassas, VA 20171

&

IAD51

100

What is LOTO

Lock out Tag out and it ensures equipment cannot be reenergized

100

What is dew point

Temperature at which condensation begins to form

(-1000 points if your answer includes the word "cloud")

100

What fuel do our generators use

Ultra Low Sulfer Disel

100

What are the 3 conditions on a FACP

Trouble - Faults that can prevent proper operation (ex: NAC fault)

Supervisory - Changed of operational state of equipment, system, or process (ex: gen running)

Alarm - Detected alarm condition from component (smoke detection)

200

What are Digital Realty's core values

1.) Customer Focused

2.) Results Driven

3.) Teamwork

200

What is an SPD and how many per line up

Surge Protector Device and 3 2 (2 in electrical room and 1 in your generator enclosure)

200

True or False.

XDMs are backed by UPS

False.

Only thing backed by UPS on XDMs are the pumps

200

What are the 4 strokes of an engine

1.) Intake

2.) Compression

3.) Combustion

4.) Exhuast

200
What would you need to make if a vendor is welding in the CRAC gallery

Hot Work Permit

300

What are the 3 event types and description

Green - Equipment has a fault/failure but doesn't affect load/redundancy

Yellow - No loss of load but loss of redundancy

Red - Loss of customers load

300

What load is carried by G-PNL 2

1.) Pre-action/Vesda

2.) Dampers

3.) Lights

4.) Receptacles

5.) *Humidifers* ?

300

What causes TES to go discharge mode and how does it go into recharge mode

TES go into discharge mode when water goes 3 degrees over set point and will go into recharge mode once temp is .5 degrees within setpoint

300

3 conditions that must be met before the SCR system activates

1.) Gen running

2.) Gen carrying 40% load

3.) SCR temp of 575 degrees

300
Fail position of eletrical room dampers

Closed

400

What is our management hierarchy

Andy Power - CEO

Steve Smith - Managing Director, Americas

Ryan Young - VP, Americas Operations (VP of AO)
Andy Cuttia - Director of East America

John Limbacher - Market Technical Manager (MTM)

Kevin Ahart - Sr. Manager Data Center Ops (MDCO)

Stephan Moyer / Waddaice Schoonover -Manager Engineering Operations (MEO)

400

What is a UPS function and normal sequence of operation

1.) Provide uninterrupted conditioned power

2.) UPS input → Rectifier (AC/DC) to trickle charge batteries → Inverter (DC/AC) → UPS Output

400

What is superheat and subcooling and why and where does it occur in the refrigeration cycle

Heating/Cooling to ensure change of state of  refrigerant

Superheat occurs before the compressor to ensure refrigerant is vapor because you don't want liquid in the compressor

Subcooling occurs before the metering device to ensure refrigerant is liquid because you don't want vapor in the metering device

400

When is the Ozone season and constraints come with that

May 1st - Sep 30th and no running of gens during 0700-1700

400

The main 3 different gauges and purpose in a Pre-Action

1. System Air Pressure -Pressure in dry piping (the top pipe)

2.) Priming Pressure - Water pressure closing the Deluge valve (piping on the left of deluge valve)

3.) Water Supply Pressure - Incoming water pressure from water entry room (bottom)

500

How do we handle yellow/red events

1.) Gather info regarding what's the issue (5-10 Min)

2.) Contact MEO (Wade or Moyer)

3.) Call GCC within 15 minutes of event

500

Normal electrical flow path starting from utility to server rack

Utility 230KV → Substation 34.5KV → Vista Switch → Step Down Transformer 480V → CT → Switch Gear → UPS →  PDU → RPP → Server Rack

500

What is the 4 main components in order of the refrigeration cycle to include main purpose and state of refrigeration

Compressor - Pushes refrigerant through the system (Hot High PSI Gas)

Condenser - Heat Rejector (Hot High PSI Liquid)

Metering Device - Pressure dropper (Low cold PSI Saturated mix)

Evaporator - Heat Absorber (Low cold PSI Liquid)

500

How does the generator uses fuel into electrical energy

Fuel is utilized by the engine which then spins the rotor that houses the stator (coils of wire) which spins against a magnetic field creating electrical energy

500

What happens if you get 2 active smoke detectors but no breaking of a sprinkler head

2 active smoke heads (electrical) will prime/activate the solenoid valve but IT WON'T open until your sprinkler head breaks (mechanical signal)
