Can my student get a job on campus?
Yes, your student should go to Student Financial Services to determine if they are Work-Study eligible or not. Campus jobs, work-study and non work-study jobs are posted outside the Welcome Center when positions are available. Examples: athletic center welcome desk, admissions, library, athletics, dining center, etc.
My student does not have a vehicle on campus, how will he/she get places?
Weekly Waterville Shuttle, every Thursday.

What is the difference between Board Bucks and Terrier Bucks?

How do I put money on my student's account?
Money can be added to student's accounts via MyThomas. This money is considered Terrier Bucks which can be used at the Dog Pound, Campus Store, or Jeanies Cafe. Terrier Bucks are different than board bucks.
My student has a peanut allergy, what resource is available for them?
Communicate allergy with dining center staff, allergy free zone in the dining center, comment cards to the kitchen for suggested foods
When can I visit my son/daughter?
We know this might be a difficult transition for you, but we’d encourage you to allow your student some space and encourage them to stay on campus on weekends, etc. The more time they have on campus at the start of the year will allow them to become more connected to Thomas, friends, and the community here. Plus there are a lot of organized activities on the weekends that are a lot of fun!
Homecoming and Family weekend is a weekend where families are invited onto campus. But you can visit anytime your student invites you onto campus - your student will need to notify the Resident Assistant on duty when guest stay overnight.
Can my student still change their major?
Yes! Students can change their major or add/drop a major/minor in the Registrars Office but it is suggested they consult their academic advisor first.
If my student is sick or injured, what resources are available to help them?
We have a nurse practitioner on campus that is available for walk-ins during certain office hours, we also have a doctor come on campus once a week by-appointment only. Public Safety is also available and trained in CPR & First Aid. Waterville has an express care clinic and two hospitals as well.
Are there parties on campus?
This is a college campus. However, we have a strict policy for alcohol and drugs. Public Safety is always around. Alcohol is only allowed if you are 21 years old.

Can I see how well my student's bill or how well they are doing in school?
Applicable to students 18 years old and older: Your student can decide if parents/guardians can see their grades, bills, and financial aid information. If they elect for you to have access you will receive mail regarding those topics. If they elect to not allow you access you will have to ask them to share that information.
Is this a safe campus? What security measures are in place to ensure my students safety?
We have Public Safety Officers on duty 24/7. They enforce the blue light emergency response system on campus as well as patrol campus in their vehicle and on foot. All students receive Public Safety's phone number so they can call 24/7 with any issues. All residences are card swipe activated or unlocked with a key and their are cameras at the entrances of each residence. We also have cameras across campus.

My student broke their foot yesterday, how accessible is campus?
Campus is very accessible with the exception of GPH, all other two story buildings have elevators, our walkways are flat and outdoor stairs are limited, bathrooms are also equipped with appropriate handicap support. All building have automatic doors. Staff will work with students who need accommodations after an injury that limits mobility if needed.

1. Unlimited meals - $50 Board Bucks
2. 225 Block - $325 Board Bucks
3. 150 Block - $450 Board Bucks (option only after first year)

If my student does not like a certain class can they switch out of it?
Students would be responsible with connecting with the new instructor, getting caught up, making up missing work etc. While add/drop is an option at the start of each semester, we recommend that you don’t use it too often.

What is the notification policy on campus? Will parents be informed of campus emergencies?
Your student will be informed of any emergency happening on campus through email, text message, or phone call. You will not be notified directly as a parent, but you student can notify you personally.
