Health related issues (ex. stomach ache, sprained ankle, concussion protocol, etc.)

List 2 (jr) to 5 (sr) coping strategies
Ex: Stress ball, deep breaths, music, coloring, cognitive restructuring, mindfulness, sports, art, talking to a friend/adult, etc.
Planifie ton étude, organise tes notes, identifie les concepts clés sur le test, utilise plus d'une modalité d'étude (ex. lecture, conversation, réécriture), assures-toi de prendre du temps pour bien manger et dormir!
If the Sports and Leisure technician is in your class, does that mean you did something wrong?
No! There are many reasons for the Technician to be in your classroom. It may have nothing to do with you!

Planning and organization, understanding a diagnosis, supporting the learning in and out of the classroom, learning to advocate for your needs, reviewing and supporting an SSP.

There's something I need help with, but I'm not sure the school Nurse can help. What do I do?
Talk to the school nurse so she can assess your needs. If she feels it is best, she can refer you to outside services such as the CLSC Youth Clinic.

What is confidentiality and how does it work?
A legal and ethical agreement between counsellor and client where what is said in session remains in session, with a few exceptions. Confidentiality applies to students 14 and older (13 and less: content may be discussed with your legal guardian).

What is a student success plan (SSP)?
A collaborative document between student, home and WIC that outlines a student's learning profile and associated support measures in and out of the classroom.
What does Mr. Salazar do?
Support the integration of students in the classroom, collaborate with Wellness Team and support teachers as needed. As a leisure tech, he supports the Phys Ed dept and coaches teams.
