Explain the parts of a Combitube.
Double lumen ETT one lumen is for esophageal intubation that ventilates through a series of holes The top cuff seals the pharyngeal making sure no pressure escapes through the mouth and the bottom cuff seals making sure pressure doesn't get into the stomach. In a trachael intubation the other lumen ventilates the patient and bottom cuff seals the trachea while the top cuff still seals the pharyngeal.
Come up to the front and perform a leak test.
Occlude the 15mm opening and sqeeze the bag. If you feel resistance and no pressure escapes then the AMBU is working properly.
