Why were we created?

Allah has created us so that we can return to him and be able to live in his closeness in paradise. However, in the temporary life that we have here on earth our purpose of creation is that Allah wants us to become his best creation. And we can achieve this by carrying out the best of deeds.

Why do we need guidance through Anbiya?

  • The Anbiya are our role models and have been chosen by Allah to guide us

  • Through the examples of Anbiya we learn to be closer to Allah and how we can grown to be the best of people

  • Anbiya are closer to Allah than us - Their souls are more pure and their intellect is stronger that ours. They receive communication from Allah and understand it without any mistakes. They then teach us what Allah has said.

Why is it clarified that Rasulullah was a mercy to ALL mankind (i.e. why is it important)? What does that mean? Give an example?

  • He was kind and merciful to everyone, not just his Ummah.

  • Displays that we should be kind to everyone regardless of who they are, because that's what Allah wants us to do.

  • Ex. Rasulullah (s) visited the old lady who would throw rubbish at him and forgave her or Rasulullah (s) freed the Mushrikeen of Mecca, following the conquest of Mecca by the Muslims.

What must all divine guides have? What does that mean? Rasulullah ancestors followed the religion of who?

  • Allah has made sure that all his divine guides come from a pure lineage.

  • All of Rasulullah (s)’s ancestors had excellent qualities and they were the followers of the religion of Nabi Ibrahim (a.s.).

  • There can be no impurity of Shirk (associating partners to Allah) or bad characteristics attached to them. If they had not been of good character the people would have refused to accept them as leaders.
