100

Finish the verse: 

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ ٱلْحُجُرَٰتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ ٤

200

Finish the verse: 

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍۢ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ شُعُوبًۭا

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍۢ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ شُعُوبًۭا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتْقَىٰكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۭ ١٣

300

Finish the verse: 

 قَالَتِ ٱلْأَعْرَابُ ءَامَنَّا ۖ قُل لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَلَـٰكِن قُولُوٓا۟ أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ 

قَالَتِ ٱلْأَعْرَابُ ءَامَنَّا ۖ قُل لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَلَـٰكِن قُولُوٓا۟ أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنُ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَا يَلِتْكُم مِّنْ أَعْمَـٰلِكُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ ١٤

Finish the verse: 

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ 

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِنۢ بَغَتْ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَـٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلَّتِى تَبْغِى 

حَتَّىٰ تَفِىٓءَ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن فَآءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُقْسِطِينَ

Finish the verse:

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثْمٌۭ ۖ

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثْمٌۭ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا۟ وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًۭا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ١٢

Explain 2 ways a person puts themselves before Allah (saw) and the messenger? 

1- giving something more importance than allah (swt) (desires)

2 - putting your opinions what you think its right and wrong before what Allah (swt) and the Prophet (saw) said

What does the word يَغۡتَب (Backbiting) mean and what word does it come from? 

backbite, comes from  the Gheeba (ghayn-ya-ba), comes from unseen (you are talking in the absence of others)

• Mentioning bad traits of others in their absence, this can refer to their physical appearance, intentions, their capabilities, their abilities, etc

In verse 15, What are the 4 qualities of a true believer?

• Believe in Allah (swt) 

• Believe in the Prophet (saw).

• They do not have the slightest doubt about their faith

• They make Jihad (striving and struggling in the way of Allah (swt)). They help their religion with their actions whether its wealth, prayers, learning, etc.

What are the 4 meanings of تَجَسَّسُواْ (Tajassasu)?

- Spy

- Trying to figure out the hidden affairs

- Touch the pulse- talk about sensitive topics (literal meaning)

- Figuring out the faults of others

What should we do when anyone comes to us with news? (verse 6). What happened at the time of the prophet which resulted in this verse being revealed? 

Verify the news. Banu Mutaliq tribe accepted islam recently and the prophet had told them he would send a collector to collect zakat on a specific day 

• However, the collector was late 

So the tribe sent out a expedition to know why this man was delayed and to give the zakat 

•  bc they lived in a difficult territory they wore amor on their trip  

When the person was going to collect the zakat, he saw the tribe come towards them with armor and swords and thought they were coming to attack, so he went back and said that the Banu Mustaliq are not going to give zakat and instead are coming to attack me 

Quran Translation

100

إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا۟ وَجَـٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ ١٥

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌۭ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَآءٌۭ مِّن نِّسَآءٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا۟ بِٱلْأَلْقَـٰبِ ۖ بِئْسَ ٱلِٱسْمُ ٱلْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ١١

Duas

100

Dua for wearing clothes

الحمدُ للهِ الّذي كَساني هذا (الثّوب) وَرَزَقَنيه مِنْ غَـيـْرِ حَولٍ مِنّي وَلا قـوّة

Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee kasaanee haathaa (aththawba) wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlim-minnee wa laa quwwatin.

All Praise is for Allah who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power nor might from myself.

Dua for entering the market

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخُيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ

There is no Lord except Allah. He is One and has no partners. His is the Kingdom and for Him are all praises. He gives life and gives death. He is eternal and everlasting In His control is goodness, and He has power over everything.

رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ

رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Our Lord! Make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful

[2:128]

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْراً 

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْراً وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى القَوْمِ الكَافِرِينَ

Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا  

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِيْ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ، رَبِّ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ، وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِيْ النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِيْ الْقَبْرِ

We have entered a new morning and also all creation in Allah’s dominion, lord of the worlds, have entered the morning. O Allah! I ask You for the good of this day, for its’ guidance. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this (day) and the evil that follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness, and from the helplessness of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the hellfire and the punishment of the grave.

What is the main reason behind mentioning the origin of humans in Verse 13? 

To show that we are all equal- brothers and sisters in faith

So that we do not discriminate on the basis of lineage

What should two individuals/brothers/groups do when they have a conflict or disagreement? (verse 9)

If two groups of the believers (physical) fight (each other), make peace between them. And if one of them oppresses the other, fight the one that commits oppression until the command of Allah (swt) returns with justice

Islam (submitting) 

 Islam: is to recite the kalimah of Islam, enter the fold of the religion and submit (superficial, exterior)

Believe in the 5 pillars of Islam (apparent submission, action based)

Iman (faith)

Faith (Iman): is real belief by the heart.

Believe in 6 elements of the unseen (deals with your heart and feelings)

Why is Backbiting Disliked in Islam? What does it stop us from doing?

 

The purpose of Islam is to reminder us about the next life, if a person engages their time in backbiting, they get lost in these deeds and forget about the next.

• We should use our time wisely and engaging in these activities deprives us from good deeds

What are the virtues of a muttaqi 

Fears Allah (swt)  

Refrains himself from sins and forbidden things (whatever is haram)
