By participating in trainings like this, we become knowledgeable enough that students can look to RAs as mentors; Promote LLCs and the Tutoring Center to help students academically; Enforce quiet hours.
How do RAs create boundaries?
Don't be too invasive, let residents share information willing; Have clear communiation; Don't coddle them.
How can an RA contribute to relationally-driven communities?
Clear communication and expectations of residents will create healthier relationships between RAs and residents; Encourage them to make meaningful relationships on campus.
What is etiquette?
The customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group.
How can RAs contribute to a student-centered culture?
Community boards in the residence halls; Encourage them to join campus clubs and organizations.
How can RAs avoid conflict?
Be authoritative but not aggressive.
How can an RA know and be known?
Be a resource - people can come to us to have their questions answered or we can point them in the right directions; residents should know us to be trustworthy, helpful, sincere, and hardworking.
