Naomi is rewarded for every 10 minutes that she doesn't elope from the room. If she elopes, the timer is started over and reinforcement is withheld until she remains in the room for the full 10 minutes.
What is DRO?
While at client pick-up, a client's mom vents to the RBT about how exhausted she is and how she lacks a personal support system. The RBT empathizes and shares her own personal tips for managing stress and burnout. To help out, the RBT gives the mother her personal cell phone number. Over the next few weeks. they regularly text each other outside of scheduled hours, sharing skincare routines, workout tips, and venting about personal stressors.
What is Unethical?
Introducing or removing a stimulus after the target behavior occurs that will decrease the likelihood that the behavior will occur in the future.
What is Punishment?
Violet tends to scream for attention. The therapist ignores the screaming behavior, but immediately reinforces her when she taps on their shoulder instead.
What is DRA?
A BCBA adds a new extinction procedure to a client's behavior plan to reduce attention-seeking tantrum behaviors. The RBT strongly disagrees with this plan, believing it makes the client too distressed. The RBT implements the procedure only when the BCBA is conducting a supervision session. When the BCBA leaves, the RBT returns to comforting the client during tantrum behaviors.
