SOB, barrel chest, pursed lip breathing, hyperinflation on X-ray, history of smoking
What is COPD exacerbation/Emphysema
Coughing up blood or blood-streaked sputum.
What is hemoptysis
Placed at the 5th intercostal space, and the midaxillary line
What is V6
Blunted costophrenic angle is seen on the x-ray
What is pleural effusion
Provides continuous, noninvasive estimates of PO2 and PCO2 using a skin sensor.
What is transcutaneous monitoring
SOB, high BP, edema, orthopnea, Kerley b lines on X-ray, a-fib on EKG
What is CHF
Rapid, shallow breaths, coupled with regular or irregular periods of apnea.
What are Biot respirations
P-R segment progressively gets longer and longer until one does not pass on to ventricles
What is Wenckebach heart block
Air accumulates in pleural space on inspiration but cannot exit on exhalation. Requires immediate decompression with chest tube or needle aspiration.

What is pulmonary embolism
Heard when airflow moves secretions or fluid in airways.

Medicine given to patients with V-tach or V-fib
What is amiodarone
Catheter used to measure hemodynamic and central pressure variables
What is pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) catheter
