Ben has a lot of practice riding horses. He will show the correct way to ride a horse! First, you need a horse to ride. Often, you can locate horse farms that let you borrow horses for riding lessons. Next, you put a saddle on the horse. The saddle will be like a seat for you to sit in while you are on the horse. It will help you stay up on the horse. After the saddle is in place, get on the horse. This is called mounting. Slip your foot in the saddle and pull yourself up. Last, gently tell the horse to go and have a nice trot. When your horse ride is over, slowly get off the horse. It’s nice to pet the horse as a way to say thanks.

Orville and Wilbur Wright are brothers who invented the first airplane. A toy helicopter got them interested in flight at an early age. The brothers wanted to make a large flying machine. Back then, airplanes, or “flying machines,” didn’t look too much different from a kite or glider. The brothers worked hard to find the best way to create wings to help the glider stay in the air. Once they had a model created, they tested it. They were able to successfully leave the ground in their creation. They looked for ways to increase the time it would stay in the air. They added propellers, a motor, and other ideas. The work done by the Wright Brothers was a good start to the future development of airplanes.
