Your student athlete asks you to edit their paper on their laptop for them. It is okay to read it, type a few notes about where they may want to make changes, and include suggestions at the bottom of the page like, “You may want to add more personal experiences”.
No, rule of thumb, never sit at your SA’s keyboard! Although you might only be reading their paper you are putting yourself at risk for plagiarism by sitting between a SA and their keyboard. Ask the Student Athlete to print off their paper and make your suggestions and notes by hand. After you complete your proofreading, make sure to make a copy, sign it, and give it to the Tutorial Coordinator.
