Thursday the day before the field trip. No form no field trip.
I'm being very loud a disruptive during tutoring. It's okay cause I have my home work done already.
This is not okay. Even if you have your work done you must still participate in academics. Your tutor will walkie Mrs. Sara and you will be sent to safe seat. You will also loose enrichment and serve detention on the following day. Your adult will also be notified.

Where should I put my backpack and any projects I may have?
On the Backpack table if I'm in 2nd grade! 3rd, 4th, 5th hang theirs in the Blue hallway. I also need to make sure all of my papers are in my backpack. So they don't get lost.
How much snack will I be given? What if I don't like tomatoes or something else?
You must take a minimum of 3 components. You do not have to eat them but giving a no thank you bite is being a good taste tester! When Ms. Sara says you can put items on the share table if they can be shared or throw them away. Or take them home for your family!
What is tutoring?
It is something we do at REC to help us keep up on our school work! This can include Math, reading or homework!
If I don't feel like doing enrichment what else can I do? What Rec Rule did I break?
I can sit quietly and wait until enrichment is over. This is so post to be fun and I should try new things!

While at the snack table my friend really wants my extra bag of Talkies. Is it okay to give it to them even though they already have two bags of Talkies?
No. Please do not ask friend for their snack or give your snack away at the table. Mrs. Sara will let you know when its okay to share your snack on the share cart! If you are taking from the share cart please only take one item off this cart. if you are still hungry see Mrs. Sara and she will help you!
How can my tutor tell I'm listening?
When you are looking at the tutor and your mouth is closed and your hands are not busy doing something else.
Enrichment leaders may come in to lead lessons. What should I do whenever it is time for them to leave?
Say "Thank You!" Also please be respectful of them and their time. They are taking time out of their schedule to spend with us. Be polite and follow their directions. Even if this really isn't something you are into we need to mind our manners!
What does being SAFE look like on the bus?
- sitting on my pockets
- staying buckled until the bus driver opens the doors and says it's okay to unbuckle
- speaking at an appropriate volume
- keeping my hands and feet to myself
- keeping trash, toys, and other objects inside the bus at all times
I don't want to go to REC today. but my mom and Mrs. Sara are expecting me to go. I decide to go home with a friend instead. Is this okay?

This is not okay. This could be a really big problem and I could get hurt or get into trouble.

My group is moving from the lunchroom to the library - how should I act in the hallway?
Walking feet in line! Quiet voice in the hallway! hands to myself!
I don't like lettuce but I'm willing to try a small no thank you bite. Can I tell my tutor I only want a tiny piece? Can I put my blueberries on my napkin since I don't care for them?
No. I'm glad you would like to try a piece but you need to take what the tutor has served you. If you don't like it after the meal is over you may place it in the trash! No all food needs to stay in your boat.
Why do you need to follow your tutor's instructions?
So you know what to do, so you can stay safe, so you can play the game right, etc.

No.
Detention is assigned when I continue to break rules well at REC.
Students get Think Sheets to think about their choices and see if they can make different choices in the future.
When a student gets a write up, they also have a meeting with Mrs. Sara and their grown ups.
If a student continues to break REC rules, they will lose privileges such as field trips and can be suspended from REC if necessary.
My tutor let me know that I broke dress code today. She asked me to not wear my crop top again to REC. I'll show her I just wont come to REC tomorrow! is this okay?

During snack I was asked to take a fruit cup. I don't like fruit. I took the cup as asked by my tutor. Can I go straight to the share table and put it on there for someone else to have?
No you must sit down at your table first for a while well you try other foods. Then listen for Mrs. Sara she will tell you when it's okay to take your fruit cup to the share table.
I have a really important question to ask but my tutor is talking. What do I do?
I raise my hand and wait to be called on before I ask my question. If I need to, I will write it down and save it in my pocket for a better question asking time.
I am allowed to interrupt if:
- I or a friend is bleeding
- I or a friend is going to have an accident
- I or a friend is having an emergency
Our enrichment this time is so much fun. I want to make so many projects for all of my family members! What should I do?
Enrichment is something that we need to be cautious about overusing so that we leave enough for everyone to have the chance to participate. You should listen to your tutor about how many projects you are allowed to make. Most likely you will make one project only.
We got some extra snacks before loading onto the bus today. I'm so hungry after our fun enrichment activity. Should I eat some of my snack really quietly? Nobody will know!
No! You should be safe and respectful and leave the food in your backpack until you get home.
if you choose to eat on the bus you will be assigned detention to clean the bus during your recess. If you continue to not follow rules you maybe asked to not ride the bus or attend REC.

FALSE. If you are to sick to attend REC you are to sick to go on a field trip and will be asked to stay home or left at school with another tutoring group. If this continues you will also have detention and possibly be asked to not attend REC anymore.

I say "Hey What" my eyes are now on Mrs. Sara or my tutor and I'm quiet waiting for instructions.
I'm a very picky eater. How much snack must I have in my boat?
You must take at least 3 components. But you do not have to eat it.
My friends are still working on their worksheets but I already finished mine. What should I do?
Be Respectful - I would not like it much if they were loud while I was working, I'll stay quiet so they can focus.
Be Hard-Working - I will check my work, then I can raise my hand to tell my tutor I am finished. If it's allowed, I will turn my paper over and draw on the back.

We're going on a field trip to the Cross Orchards Historic Farm today! I just found the cool tractors outside, and my friend says I should climb up on it to pretend like I'm a farmer! What should I do?
BE SAFE - I should keep my feet on the ground. It's not safe to climb on things, especially without a grown up around.
BE RESPECTFUL - I should not climb on something that does not belong to me, or that I have not gotten permission for.

No. Your tutor will give you a push then it's up to you to pump your legs!
My 4th grade tutoring group is working on fractions today, but my friend in 3rd grade is playing with a cool new manipulative I haven't had a chance to play with yet. I keep trying to get their attention from across the hall but they are having too much fun. My tutor has told me three times already to please be quiet. What should I do?
Be Positive/Appropriate - I am a 4th grader and should be setting a good example for the other younger grades.
Be Respectful - My tutor should not have to remind me so many times to be quiet. I will sit down and show them I am listening.
Be Hard-Working - I know that these fractions make me uncomfortable because they are new to me and I need more practice. (Maybe I can ask my tutor if they have any manipulatives that we can use for our lesson today?)

Go line up. While I'm in line I should have a quiet voice, facing forward, hands by my side and be paying attention so when it's time to count off I'll be ready to give my number!

We are running late from tutoring to enrichment time. My group has a big mess still left over in a classroom. Should we stay to clean it up or leave it for someone else to clean up and get to enrichment on time?
We should stay to clean it up. We are borrowing these spaces from people who need to use them during the day. It is up to us to take good care of them and make them look better than they did when we came into them.
Can I take my cell phone to recess?
No. Cell phone's are not allowed at REC. My cell phone must go into my backpack until REC is over. If my parent needs me they need to call Mrs. Sara

When riding on the bus can I talk to the bus driver?
No. You may talk to the person sitting next to you only. In a quiet voice.
It's tutoring time and I forgot my home work in my classroom and didn't bring my book. But I have a picture book in my back pack! Can I use that book or grab one off the free book shelf?
No you may not bring a book that isn't at your reading level. REC may not take you back to your classroom. You will need to bring your home work tomorrow. your adult will be notified and you may not earn your sticker today for not being prepared for REC. You must bring a book everyday.
It's time to go home but I really want to go to my friends house can I call my parent or text them to see if this is okay?
No at this time it's to crazy to contact parents. If you want to go to a friends house you need to make arrangements before or after REC. Not during pick up time.
I don't like the snack at REC - but I brought a package of Oreos from the food drive. Can I have that for snack?
No - Food outside of REC will be saved for you for after REC, not for during REC. Please leave any food from the food drive on the backpack tables or on Mrs. Sara's table!
We are in our tutoring groups and we are in the counselors office! She has some really cool toys and chairs. I really want to play with her stuff. What should I do?
Don't touch the counselors things! We are not in her room to play we are in this room to focus on tutoring time. If we mess with her stuff or another teachers things we will not be allowed to use her room any more. And we will have to use the hallway for tutoring time.

You will now be Mrs. Sara's buddy for the rest of the field trip. It's not safe to wonder off alone. You will be assigned detention and get a write up. Your parent will be contacted. Next field trip you will not be allowed to attend.
