Johnson
Johnson fought with Radical Republicans over their plans to punish the South. He created the Restoration Program, which would pardon everyone who took an oath, unless they were a confederate military officer or government official, or had property with a value in excess of 20 grand.
What was the result of sharecropping?
Freedmen were not paid for their labor and owed more than they earned.
What were the black codes?
Laws that restricted the rights of Black Americans
